A suspect was arrested (on Sunday 26 February 2023) after allegedly trying to break into a business address on Industrie Road in Voorbaai.
“One of our armed response officers was sent to investigate the alarm signal we received from the retailer. On his arrival he found no sign of any suspicious activity when he did an external perimeter search,” explains Charnel Hattingh, Group Head of Communications and Marketing at Fidelity ADT.
A manager of the business had by that time also arrived, and opened the doors so that a search could be conducted inside the building. “This is where our officer saw a hole in the roof and quickly located an unknown person inside the building,” says Hattingh.
The suspect was detained and handed over into police custody.
