Fidelity's armed response officers

Plumstead trespasser arrested

An alarm signal from a home in Plumstead helped ensure that an alleged trespasser was arrested this past weekend. The incident happened at an address along Bramley Road, early on Sunday morning (5 December 2021).

“We received the alarm signal at around 7.30am and sent an armed response officer to investigate,” says Mr Jade Hanning, Western Cape General Manager at Fidelity ADT. “As soon as he arrived at the address, our officer proceeded to do an inspection of the property.”

This inspection, says Hanning, led to the discovery of an unknown person on the side of the house. Another armed response officer also arrived at the address, and helped his colleague to apprehend the unknown person.”

The suspect was handed over into the custody of Diep River SAPS, and he has been charged with attempted break-in and trespassing. “Always make sure your home alarm system is tested regularly, so that it can help protect your assets in case of an attempted break-in,” says Hanning.
