Panic alarm leads to Bluewater Bay arrest

Panic alarm buttons are useful personal safety tools. This was again shown recently, when a suspect was arrested in Bluewater Bay. He had allegedly broken into a residence along De Mist Circle, traumatizing the home owner before fleeing the property with stolen items. “We received a panic alarm signal from the address and sent armed response officer Patrick George to investigate. The customer was understandably shocked at what had happened, and it was difficult to give our officer a clear account of the events that transpired,” says Fidelity ADT’s acting Gqeberha branch manager Jeremy Bosman. The customer’s son soon arrived at the address, to assist and give comfort to his traumatised dad. “Our officer now had a clearer idea of what had happened and could also use a description of the suspect to start searching the area. He soon located a person that matched the description,” says Bosman. The suspect was apprehended and handed over into the custody of Swartkops SAPS. “If you have any kind of alarm or panic alarm system at home, please test it often to make sure that your armed response company will be able to receive your call for help,” says Bosman.
