The Mountain Rise South African Police Service (SAPS) recently took custody of a suspect thanks to the rapid response of local security officers.
“Just after 18h20 on Thursday, 8th June, we received a WhatsApp message from a Pietermaritzburg community group regarding a man who had sustained injuries from an axe to his head and was in need of urgent assistance as the suspect was still in his yard. Our Armed Response team was immediately dispatched and arrived at the Seagull Road property within minutes,” says Marlon Pillay, Fidelity ADT Pietermaritzburg Branch Manager.
The suspect was successfully apprehended and handed over for arrest to members of the Mountain Rise SAPS.
The victim was stabilised and transported to hospital for further treatment.
“We commend our armed response officers for their quick response, ensuring this violent suspect was caught,” concludes Pillay.
