Two stolen vehicles recovered within 24 hours

In two separate incidents, two stolen vehicles were successfully recovered within a 24-hour period.

On the 9th of January at 14h40, information regarding a Toyota Etios that had been stolen in Amanzimtoti was received on a security Whatsapp group following a SNIPR camera activation.

“Our Specialised Intervention Unit (SIU) team immediately responded and located the vehicle in Berken Road along with one male driver,” says Charnel Hattingh, Head of Marketing and Communications at Fidelity Services Group.

The suspect and the stolen vehicle were taken to Brighton Beach SAPS.

In the second incident which took place on the 10th of January in the early hours of the morning, Fidelity ADT received reports of a vehicle that was stolen from Addington Hospital in South Beach.

“As soon as our control room received the information, our SIU were notified and deployed. Thanks to the swift response of our team, the stolen vehicle was successfully located and recovered in KwaMashu,” says Hattingh.

The stolen vehicle was handed over to members of the local SAPS.

In the unfortunate event that your vehicle is stolen, it is important to contact your tracking company as soon as possible to notify them. “The sooner you are able to report a stolen vehicle, the better. Time is of the essence when recovery teams are deployed – every second can assist teams in successfully recovering your vehicle and catching the criminals involved,” concludes Hattingh.
