A suspect is in police custody, after he allegedly stole property from a resident in Charleston Hill (on 19 January 2023).
“One of our armed response officers was on patrol in the suburb on Thursday when he was alerted to a suspect who had gained access to a residential property. It was alleged that he had stolen a resident’s purse with cash and bank cards before fleeing,” says Warren Cassisa, Paarl branch manager for Fidelity ADT.
The officer was given a detailed description of the alleged suspect. This proved to be very helpful as the suspect was located nearby and detained by armed response officers, before he was handed over into the custody of Paarl East SAPS.
“Being a victim of a crime is understandably very traumatic. If you can, try to gather as detailed a description of the suspect as you can as this helps law enforcement and security partners in tracking down the suspect,” says Cassisa.
