A suspect was arrested in Jeffreys Bay this week after allegedly breaking into a home on Torchwood Street. Armed response officers were able to detain him when they found the suspect fast asleep inside the home he had allegedly just burgled.
“Our armed response officers were sent to investigate a report of a house robbery (on Monday 21 August). When they arrived at the address, they quickly realised the alleged suspect was still inside the house,” explains Fidelity ADT Gqeberha branch manager, Bernadette Nel-Naude.
She explains that to the officers’ amusement, they discovered the suspect had apparently helped himself to some of the alcohol in the home and had passed out. “This meant he didn’t hear our officers arrive and couldn’t make any kind of getaway. He will now get a chance to sleep off his hangover, safely locked behind bars.”
